Crime scene or forensic photography involves a number of skills and responsibilities. Read the information provided in the Content Area and perform your own research on the duties and responsibilities of the forensic photographer. What skills do you think are the most important and why? Which skills do you think will be most likely to help you get hired as a forensic photographer?


· The duties and responsibilities of the forensic photographer consist of visiting the crime scene to capture images of victims and the incident site. To photograph dead bodies, autopsy process and personal belongings of deceased as documentary evidence. Additionally, cooperate and collaborate with law enforcement personnel, detectives, hospitals and physicians, in the investigation of criminal cases, as well as process, develop and enlarge print and digital photographs, as needed, assist with management and maintenance of photographic supplies and chemicals. Produce technical reports for photographic assignments and scientific examinations. Create, maintain and provide photographic and illustrative evidence for use in investigations and as evidence in court. . To give testimony in court regarding photographic evidence, when required, and to provide evidentiary images in court as an expert witness (forensic great sample resume, 2019).


· The skills that I think are the most important as a forensic photographer consist of extensive experience of preparation, preservation, and submission of photographic evidence for use in criminal investigations and in court. Sound knowledge of forensic laboratory operations, OSHA guidelines, photochemistry, and digital imaging. Thorough knowledge of principles, methods, and equipment of modern forensic photography. To have and maintain familiarity with Adobe Photoshop software and digital photographic equipment. To have the ability to perform photographic documentation of evidence, properly and correctly. To have the ability to operate systems used in retaining DNA, fingerprint, and trace evidence (forensic great sample resume, 2019)


I think these all are vital skills because all together, one can present forensic photographs, etc. that are according to standards and guidelines expected of an individual in this position. The skills that I think will be most likely to help me get hired as a forensic photographer are to educate myself in the field of forensic photography, having a positive mind and attitude, as well as following guidelines relevant to this position.
